We Mourn the Reality of sin
Hymn of Acclamation - Here For You
Let our praise be Your welcome, let our songs be a sign
We are here for You, we are here for You
Let Your breath come from heaven, fill our hearts with Your life
We are here for You, we are here for You
Chorus
To You our hearts are open, nothing here is hidden
You are our one desire
You alone are holy, only You are worthy
God let Your fire fall down
Let our shout be Your anthem, Your renown fill the sky
We are here for You, we are here for You
Let Your Word move in power, let what's dead come to life
We are here for You, we are here for You
We welcome You with praise, we welcome You with praise
Oh mighty God of love, be welcomed in this place
Let every heart adore, let every soul awake
Oh mighty God of love, be welcomed in this place
Hymn of Confession - Hallelujah! What a Savior!
Man of Sorrows! what a name, For the Son of God, who came
Ruined sinners to reclaim, Hallelujah! What a Savior!
Bearing shame and scoffing rude, In my place condemned He stood
He sealed my pardon with His blood, Hallelujah! What a Savior!
Guilty, vile, and helpless me; Spotless Lamb of God was He;
Full atonement! can it be? Hallelujah! What a Savior!
Lifted up was He to die; "It is finished!" was His cry;
Now in Heaven exalted high, Hallelujah! What a Savior!
When He comes, our glorious King, All His ransomed home to bring,
Then anew this song we'll sing: Hallelujah! What a Savior!
Confession and Assurance of Pardon
Lord, life is hard. Full of pain and loss. We need you and your comfort. Anxiety, depression, infertility, addiction, cancer, loss of loved ones. Life leaves us weary as we journey through blow after heart breaking blow.
Even as our hearts are broken, it is such a comfort to know that You sent Jesus to be broken for us so that we would never be alone in the brokenness.
We can encounter comfort from the Man of Sorrows Himself. Lord, will you meet our aching hearts with your very presence.
Jesus, thank you for choosing the way of suffering that I might have a companion in my own journey through it. You know the sorrows I carry, and I entrust them to You, for You understand the depth of them even more than I do. Help me remember that you endured the greatest version of pain and loss on the cross, on my behalf. Let Your endurance through sorrow empower mine today and use me as an instrument of comfort in the lives of others. Amen.
Hymn of Redemption: “I delight in You (Psalm1)”
Lord You are a stream of purest water
Blessings grow in beauty by Your side
From the rising of the sun until the day is done
In Your word oh Lord, I will abide
Chorus:
I delight in You, I delight in You, Like water You satisfy my soul
I delight in You, I delight in You, Oh day and night, I delight in You
Keep me from the counsel of the wicked
Keep Your light upon the ancient path
The chaff will blow away and all the flowers fade
But only You and Your word will last - Chorus
Lord You know my heart is prone to wander
Lord You know my feet have gone astray
Though my flesh may fail
Every sin was nailed to the cross, now I will sing - Chorus
Scripture Reading: “Psalm 1”
1 Blessed is the man
who walks not in the counsel of the wicked,
nor stands in the way of sinners,
nor sits in the seat of scoffers;
2 but his delight is in the law of the Lord,
and on his law he meditates day and night.
3 He is like a tree
planted by streams of water
that yields its fruit in its season,
and its leaf does not wither.
In all that he does, he prospers.
4 The wicked are not so,
but are like chaff that the wind drives away.
5 Therefore the wicked will not stand in the judgment,
nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous;
6 for the Lord knows the way of the righteous,
but the way of the wicked will perish.
