“How to Pray for your Deepest Need”

Bible Text: Ephesians 3:14-21 | Preacher: Davis Lacey | Series: From Death to Life: Lessons from Ephesians | Insights from This Passage

Our deepest need is not a change in situation, but a change in self. Ephesians 3:14-21 instructs us on how to pray for that deep need to be satisfied in Christ. We pray to be transformed from “sin’s slaves” to “Christ’s subjects” (v. 17a); we pray to be changed from “love needers” to “love knowers” (vv. 17b – 19a); and we ask to be emptied of ourselves and filled up with the presence of God himself (vv. 19b – 20).

“Now to him who is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think, according to the power at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever. Amen” (Eph. 3:20-21)
