We Give Glory to God
Call to Worship: “Psalm 145:1-9”
I will extol you, my God and King,
and bless your name forever and ever.
2 Every day I will bless you
and praise your name forever and ever.
3 Great is the Lord, and greatly to be praised,
and his greatness is unsearchable.
4 One generation shall commend your works to another,
and shall declare your mighty acts.
5 On the glorious splendor of your majesty,
and on your wondrous works, I will meditate.
6 They shall speak of the might of your awesome deeds,
and I will declare your greatness.
7 They shall pour forth the fame of your abundant goodness
and shall sing aloud of your righteousness.
8 The Lord is gracious and merciful,
slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love.
9 The Lord is good to all,
and his mercy is over all that he has made.
Hymn of Acclamation: “Praise to the Lord, the Almighty”
Neander, 1680
Praise to the Lord, the Almighty
The King of creation
O my soul, praise Him
For He is thy health and salvation
All ye who hear, now to His temple draw near
Praise Him in glad adoration
Praise to the Lord
Who o’er all things so wonderfully reigneth
Shelters thee under His wings
And, so gladly sustaineth
Hast thou not seen how thy desires have been
Granted in what He ordaineth
Hallelujah (4x)
Praise to the Lord
Who doth prosper thy work and defend thee
Surely His goodness and mercy here
Daily attend thee
Ponder anew what the Almighty can do
If with His love He befriend thee
Praise to the Lord, O let all that is in me adore Him
All that hath life and breath
Come now with praises before Him
Let the ‘amen’ sound from His people again
Gladly for aye we adore Him
Hallelujah (4x)
We Mourn the Reality of Sin
Hymn of Confession: “Lord I Need You”
Maher, 2013
Lord, I come, I confess
Bowing here I find my rest
Without You I fall apart
You’re the One that guides my heart
Chorus
Lord, I need You, oh, I need You
Every hour I need You
My one defense, my righteousness
Oh God, how I need You
Where sin runs deep Your grace is more
Where grace is found is where You are
Where You are, Lord, I am free
Holiness is Christ in me
Chorus
So teach my song to rise to You
When temptation comes my way
And when I cannot stand I’ll fall on You
Jesus, You’re my hope and stay
Chorus
Prayer of Confession: “Approaching Jesus”
Adapted from The Valley of Vision, “Act of Approach”
We praise you continually, Lord. You give us permission to approach your throne of grace, and to freely spread our wants and desires before you.
We praise you, Lord Jesus!
We are not worthy of your blessings and mercies, because we fall so far short of your righteous standards. Our sin-natures reveal themselves in disobedience and rebellion; in discontent, pride, envy, and revenge. By nature and by choice, we betray you every day.
Forgive us, Lord Jesus!
Remember not our sins – sins we pursued in our youth, sins we are presently pursuing, and sins we will commit against you in the future:
Failing to use time and talents for your glory
Abusing your mercies and means
Wasting your Sabbath Rest
Indulging your grace, letting sin abound uncontested
Neglecting your salvation in our gospel-amnesia
Disregarding you, O Friend of Sinners
Forgive us, Lord Jesus!
As we confess our guilt, let us feel it deeply

We Celebrate Christ as Our Redeemer
Assurance of Pardon: “1 John 4:9-10”
9 In this the love of God was made manifest among us, that God sent his only Son into the world, so that we might live through him. 10 In this is love, not that we have loved God but that he loved us and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins.
Hymn of Redemption: “Jesus Paid it All”
Hall, 1865
I hear the Savior say: “Thy strength indeed is small”
Child of weakness, watch and pray, Find in me thine all in all.
Chorus
Jesus paid it all! All to Him I owe.
Sin had left a crimson stain;
He washed it white as snow.
Lord now indeed I find; thy power and thine alone
Can change the leper’s spots, And melt the heart of stone.
Repeat Chorus
And when before the throne, I stand in Him complete
Jesus died my soul to save my lips shall still repeat.
Repeat Chorus
O praise the One who paid my debt,
And raised this life up from the dead! (REPEAT)
Repeat Chorus
Reading: “Hebrews 10:19-25”
19 Therefore, brothers, since we have confidence to enter the holy places by the blood of Jesus, 20 by the new and living way that he opened for us through the curtain, that is, through his flesh, 21 and since we have a great priest over the house of God, 22 let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, with our hearts sprinkled clean from an evil conscience and our bodies washed with pure water.23 Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for he who promised is faithful. 24 And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works,25 not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near.

Sermon: “Why Corporate Worship?”
Davis Lacey – Hebrews 10:19-25
We Respond to the Gospel
Hymn of Response: “Jesus, Thank You”
Sczebel, 2003
The mystery of the cross I cannot comprehend,
The agonies of Calvary.
You, the Perfect Holy One, crushed Your Son,
Drank the bitter cup reserved for me.
CHORUS
Your blood has washed away my sin,
Jesus, thank You.
The Father’s wrath completely satisfied,
Jesus, thank You.
Once Your enemy, now seated at Your table,
Jesus, thank You.
By Your perfect sacrifice I’ve been brought near,
Your enemy you’ve made Your friend.
Pouring out the riches of Your glorious grace,
Your mercy and your kindness know no end.
REPEAT CHORUS
Lover of my soul – I want to live for you (REPEAT)
REPEAT CHORUS

Hymn of New Creation: “Is He Worthy?”
Peterson and Shive, 2018
Do you feel the world is broken? (We do)
Do you feel the shadows deepen? (We do)
But do you know that all the dark won’t stop the light from getting through? (We do)
Do you wish that you could see it all made new? (We do)
Is all creation groaning? (It is)
Is a new creation coming? (It is)
Is the glory of the Lord to be the light within our midst? (It is)
Is it good that we remind ourselves of this? (It is)
Is anyone worthy? Is anyone whole?
Is anyone able to break the seal and open the scroll?
The Lion of Judah who conquered the grave
He is David’s root and the Lamb who died to ransom the slave
Is He worthy? Is He worthy?
Of all blessing and honor and glory
Is He worthy of this? (He is!)
Does the Father truly love us? (He does)
Does the Spirit move among us? (He does)
And does Jesus, our Messiah hold forever those He loves? (He does)
Does our God intend to dwell again with us? (He does)
Is anyone worthy? Is anyone whole?
Is anyone able to break the seal and open the scroll?
The Lion of Judah who conquered the grave
He is David’s root and the Lamb who died to ransom the slave
Every people and tribe! Every nation and tongue!
He has made us a kingdom and priests to God
To reign with the Son
Is He worthy? Is He worthy?
Of all blessing and honor and glory
Is He worthy? Is He worthy?
Is He worthy of this? (He is!)
Is He worthy? Is He worthy? (He is!) (He is!)
