We Give Glory to God
Call to Worship: “1 Peter 1:3-5”
3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! According to his great mercy, he has caused us to be born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, 4 to an inheritance that is imperishable, undefiled, and unfading, kept in heaven for you, 5 who by God’s power are being guarded through faith for a salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.
Hymn of Acclamation: “Jesus”
Eichelberger and Bolen, 2013
The King of all Creation set aside His crown
A servant to the Father’s love
Descended from his throne above
Author of Salvation, Giver of new life
Crucified to pay for sin
Our righteousness is in the name of
Jesus! Every heart and tongue confess
Your name above all names
All things of this earth belong to you
Forever you will reign
God of Resurrection, Conqueror of death
Ruler over everything
The Lord of lords and King of kings is
Jesus! Every heart and tongue confess
Your name above all names
All things of this earth belong to you
Forever you will reign
Highly exalted is the name, of Jesus Christ
Heaven and earth declare all praise, to Jesus Christ
Highly exalted is the name, of Jesus Christ
Heaven and earth declare all praise to
Jesus! Every heart and tongue confess
Your name above all names
All things of this earth belong to you
Forever you will reign
Jesus! Every heart and tongue confess
Your name above all names
All things of this earth belong to you
Forever you will reign
Highly exalted is the name, of Jesus Christ
Heaven and earth declare all praise, to Jesus Christ
We Mourn the Reality of Sin
Hymn of Confession: “Come Thou Fount of Every Blessing” Robinson, 1758
Come, thou fount of every blessing;
Tune my heart to sing thy grace.
Streams of mercy, never-ceasing,
Call for songs of loudest praise.
Teach me some melodious sonnet
Sung by flaming tongues above.
Praise the mount! I’m fixed upon it.
Mount of thy redeeming love.
Here I raise my Ebenezer;
Hither by thy help I’ve come.
And I hope, by thy good pleasure,
Safely to arrive at home.
Jesus sought me when a stranger,
Wandering from the fold of God.
He to rescue me from danger,
Interposed his precious blood.
O, to grace, how great a debtor
Daily I’m constrained to be!
Let thy goodness, like a fetter,
Bind my wandering heart to thee.
Prone to wander, Lord I feel it!
Prone to leave the God I love!
Here’s my heart, Lord: Take and seal it.
Seal it for thy courts above.
Confession: “Psalm 32:1-4”
1 Blessed is the one whose transgression is forgiven, whose sin is covered.
2 Blessed is the man against whom theLordcounts no iniquity, and in whose spirit there is no deceit.
3 For when I kept silent, my bones wasted away through my groaning all day long.
4 For day and night yourhand was heavy upon me; my strength was dried up as by the heat of summer.

Assurance of Pardon: “Psalm 32:5-7”
5 I acknowledged my sin to you, and I did not cover my iniquity; I said, “I will confess my transgressions to the Lord,” and you forgave the iniquity of my sin.
6 Therefore let everyone who is godly offer prayer to you at a time when you may be found; surely in the rush of great waters, they shall not reach him.
7 You are a hiding place for me; you preserve me from trouble; you surround me with shouts of deliverance.
Hymn of Redemption: “Grace Alone”
Kensrue, 2013
I was an orphan lost at the fall
Running away when I’d hear your call
But Father, you worked your will
I had no righteousness of my own
I had no right to draw near your throne
But Father, you loved me still
And in love before you laid the world’s foundation
You predestined to adopt me as your own
You have raised me so high up above my station
I’m a child of God by grace and grace alone
You left your home to seek out the lost
You knew the great and terrible cost
But Jesus, your face was set
I worked my fingers down to the bone
Nothing I did could ever atone
But Jesus, you paid my debt
By your blood I have redemption and salvation
Lord, you died that I might reap what you have sown
And you rose that I might be a new creation
I am born again by grace and grace alone
I was in darkness all of my life
I never knew the day from the night
But Spirit, you made me see
I swore I knew the way on my own
Head full of rocks, a heart made of stone
But Spirit, you moved in me
At your touch my sleeping spirit was awakened
On my darkened heart the light of Christ has shone
Called into a Kingdom that cannot be shaken
Heaven’s citizen by grace and grace alone
So I’ll stand in faith by grace and grace alone
I will run the race by grace and grace alone
I will slay my sin by grace and grace alone
I will reach the end by grace and grace alone
Reading: “Romans 15:3-4”
3 For Christ did not please himself, but as it is written, “The reproaches of those who reproached you fell on me.” 4 For whatever was written in former days was written for our instruction, that through endurance and through the encouragement of the Scriptures we might have hope.

We Respond to the Gospel
Hymn of Response: “Jesus, Thank You”
Sczebel, 2003
The mystery of the cross I cannot comprehend,
The agonies of Calvary.
You, the Perfect Holy One, crushed Your Son,
Drank the bitter cup reserved for me.
CHORUS
Your blood has washed away my sin,
Jesus, thank You.
The Father’s wrath completely satisfied,
Jesus, thank You.
Once Your enemy, now seated at Your table,
Jesus, thank You.
By Your perfect sacrifice I’ve been brought near,
Your enemy you’ve made Your friend.
Pouring out the riches of Your glorious grace,
Your mercy and your kindness know no end.
REPEAT CHORUS
Lover of my soul – I want to live for you (REPEAT)

Hymn of the New Creation: “The Church’s One Foundation” Stone, 1866
The church’s one foundation
Is Jesus Christ her Lord,
She is His new creation
By water and the Word.
From heaven He came and sought her
To be His holy bride;
With His own blood He bought her,
And for her life He died.
Elect from every nation,
Yet one over all the earth;
Her charter of salvation:
One Lord, one faith, one birth;
One holy Name she blesses, partakes one holy food,
To one hope she presses, with every grace endued.
The church shall never perish,
Her dear Lord to defend
To guide, sustain and cherish, is with her to the end
Though there be those that hate her,
And false sons in her pale
Against a foe or traitor,
She ever shall prevail
Mid toil and tribulation, And tumult of her war,
She waits the consummation, Of peace forevermore;
‘Til, with the vision glorious,
Her longing eyes are blessed,
And the great church victorious
Shall be the church at rest.
Yet she on earth hath union
With God the Three in One,
And mystic sweet communion
With those whose rest is won.
O happy ones and holy!
Lord, give us grace that we
Like them, the meek and lowly,
On high may dwell with Thee.
